Koko Samoa is a traditional Samoan hot chocolate drink made from 100% cacao paste. The cocoa beans are roasted over an open flame using a hot plate or grill, then ground by hand using a home made mortar and pestle which forms a gritty, coarse paste.

Considered the national drink of Samoa, koko is a staple in most households and produce markets both in Samoa, and around the world.
